In-Situ/Operando Observation Techniques for Water Splitting Catalysts
Professor Masaaki Yoshida
摘要 :
Hydrogen production from water using renewable energy has been receiving attention to achieve a sustainable society. For this purpose, electrocatalyst, photocatalyst, and photoelectrode have been developed for water splitting reaction to produce hydrogen gas. In this situation, I have originally constructed various kinds of in-situ/operando XAFS and IR techniques under electrochemical condition. On the basis of these techniques, I analyzed all elements in the electrocatalysts/photocatalysts/photoelectrode to investigate the reaction mechanism of water splitting catalysis.
學經歷 :
Masaaki Yoshida was born in Chiba, Japan in 1982. He studied homogeneous photocatalyst for carbon dioxide reduction in Prof. Osam Ishitani's group at Tokyo institute of technology. He received his bachelor degree in 2005. He investigated kinetics of a radical reaction by Laser-induced fluorescence in Akira Miyoshi's group at the University of Tokyo. He received his master degree in 2007. He studied heterogeneous photocatalyst for overall water splitting by electrochemical and spectroscopic studies in Kazunari Domen's group at the University of Tokyo. He received his doctoral degree (Engineering) from the University of Tokyo in March 2010. He has worked as an assistant professor at Department of Chemistry, Keio University from April 2010. His research interests are operand analyses to observe real working-state of catalyst about photocatalyst for overall water splitting or wet solar cell for the application to solar energy conversion system.
